1. Who you are contracting with
FileConvert Studio is a product of SI Devworks, owned and operated by Sary Ismail, based in Derbyshire, United Kingdom. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean SI Devworks, and “you” means the person using the service. You can reach us at support@fileconvertstudio.com.
2. What the service does
FileConvert Studio converts, compresses and clips audio and video files, and produces transcripts and subtitles from them. Processing happens in the cloud. We use third-party providers to do the actual work: CloudConvert for format conversion and compression, and ElevenLabs for speech-to-text. Your files are stored with Google Firebase.
3. Your account
You sign in with a Google account. You are responsible for anything done through your account, and for keeping access to that Google account secure. You must be at least 16 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent where you live, whichever is higher.
4. Your files, and what you promise about them
You keep ownership of everything you upload and everything the service produces from it. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service: to store your file, transmit it to the providers named above, process it, and return the result to you. That permission ends when the file is deleted.
You confirm, each time you process a file, that you own the media or have permission to process it. Do not upload material you have no right to use, material that infringes someone else’s rights, or material that is unlawful. We built this for original, licensed and authorised media. We are not a tool for stripping protection from content you do not own.
We do not use your files to train machine learning models. Files sent to CloudConvert and ElevenLabs are handled under their own terms; we have configured the service to send only what is needed to complete your job.
5. Retention and deletion
Anything you do not explicitly save is deleted automatically about 24 hours after it is created. That deletion is performed by a scheduled job and covers both the file you uploaded and the record of the job.
If you choose Save on a finished item, we copy the output into our own storage and keep it until you delete it or close your account. Saving is opt-in, per item. We may still remove the original upload for a saved item while keeping the result.
6. Plans, price and payment
There is a free plan and two paid plans, currently Creator at $9.99 per month and Pro at $19.99 per month. Listed prices include tax. The amount shown is the amount charged.
Payments are processed by Stripe. For subscriptions to FileConvert Studio, Stripe acts as merchant of record. That means Stripe, not us, is the seller for the transaction and is responsible for collecting and remitting sales tax, VAT and GST. Your bank statement will show a Stripe-managed descriptor rather than our name alone.
Subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the billing portal inside the studio; access continues to the end of the period you have paid for. We do not charge a cancellation fee.
7. Refunds
If you are a consumer in the UK or EU you have statutory cancellation rights, which these terms do not limit. Beyond that, contact us at support@fileconvertstudio.com and we will deal with refund requests reasonably. Because Stripe is merchant of record, Stripe may also issue a refund directly, including to resolve a dispute.
8. Usage allowances
Each plan includes a monthly allowance of AI minutes, used by transcription and subtitles, and conversion minutes, used by format changes, compression, audio extraction and clipping. Minutes are calculated from the length of the media, rounded up, with a one minute minimum. Allowances reset at the start of each calendar month and do not roll over. Plans also cap the size of a single upload.
If an allowance is exhausted the service will decline new jobs of that type until it resets or you upgrade. If a job fails before any provider work begins, the minutes are returned.
9. Availability
We do not promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. It depends on third parties, and they have outages. We provide the service “as is” and, so far as the law allows, exclude implied warranties. Nothing here excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Limits on liability
Subject to the paragraph above, our total liability to you for any claim connected with the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or $100. We are not liable for lost profits, lost revenue, or loss of data where that loss results from you not keeping your own copy of a file. Keep your own backups. This service is a processing tool, not a storage service.
11. Suspension and termination
You can stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, particularly clause 4, or where we are required to by law or by one of our providers. If we close your account without cause, we will refund any unused portion of a paid period.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you, we will give notice by email or in the product before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the change.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the benefit of any mandatory protections of your home country.
